Rules for using SudoEarth

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SudoEarth iOS application (the “App”) and the SudoEarth backend service (the “Service”) provided by Yue Hu, an individual sole proprietor located at Room A023, Unit I, 15/F, Block A, Wah Sang Industrial Building, 14-18 Wong Chuk Yeung Street, Shatin, Hong Kong (“we”, “us”, “our”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
SudoEarth is a single-player sudoku game that lets you solve location-themed puzzles, optionally request AI-assisted hints (“Mira”), and track your progress across devices. Free users receive a limited number of Mira hints per day; SudoEarth Premium subscribers receive additional hints and (potentially, in future versions) other premium features.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. The App is available in the App Store regions we choose to distribute to; availability may change over time.
3. Your account
To use any feature that syncs across devices (puzzle progress, subscription state), you must sign in with Apple. We use Apple Sign-in’s anonymous-identifier flow; we do not collect your name, email, or other personal information unless you explicitly share it with us.
You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID credentials secure. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized access to your Apple ID.
4. SudoEarth Premium subscription
4.1 What you get
SudoEarth Premium provides unlimited Mira hints. Future versions of the App may include additional Premium features at no additional charge to existing Premium subscribers, or may launch separate subscription tiers (in which case existing subscribers’ plans will not be upgraded automatically).
4.2 Pricing and billing
Subscription prices are displayed in the App at the point of purchase, in your local currency. Prices vary by region. Apple charges your Apple ID on file for each billing period.
4.3 Auto-renewal
SudoEarth Premium subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. By starting a subscription, you authorize Apple to charge your Apple ID for each renewal at the then-current price.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID subscription settings: iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → SudoEarth Premium → Cancel.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you continue to have Premium access until then.
4.5 Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are administered by Apple. Visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. We are unable to issue refunds directly for App Store purchases.
4.6 Free trials (if offered)
If a SudoEarth Premium plan offers a free trial, the trial period begins immediately upon purchase. You will be charged the full subscription price at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Cancel via the Apple ID settings path above.
4.7 Price changes
If we change the subscription price, you will be notified by Apple in advance and given an opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: - Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App. - Use the App to send abusive, illegal, or infringing content through any input field. - Attempt to circumvent the App’s authentication or paywall systems. - Use automated tools to generate large numbers of Mira hint requests (we may rate-limit or terminate accounts that do so).
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Our content
The App’s source code, puzzle bank, chapter content, artwork, and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 Your content
You retain ownership of your puzzle progress (which moves you made, in which order). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, sync, and display your progress as needed to operate the Service.
6.3 Mira hints
AI-generated text returned by the Mira hint feature is provided “as is” and is not warranted to be accurate, helpful, or puzzle-correct. Mira may make mistakes; verify hints before applying them.
7. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF SECURITY VULNERABILITIES.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF YOU HAVE PAID US NOTHING).
WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST PUZZLE PROGRESS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. The above limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time; your subscription continues until the end of the then-current billing period unless you cancel via Apple ID settings.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute, controversy, difference, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, including the existence, validity, interpretation, performance, breach, or termination thereof, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) under the HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules in force when the Notice of Arbitration is submitted. The seat of arbitration shall be Hong Kong. The number of arbitrators shall be one. The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you and we each agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
11. Apple end-user license terms
Per Apple’s standard requirements: - These Terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. - Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. - In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. - Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use of the App after the “Last updated” date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
